    Bad Connection - A Poem

    Bad Connection

    By: Theresa Richardson

    He blew me off today

    It was over the phone

    I opened the door

And instead of walking through it

    Or even leaning

    Against the jam

    The silence just hung

    I thought for a moment

    He might at least step

    Over the threshold

    But he shut it

    Quickly

    Precisely

    Hard

    But not a slam

It was good talking to you

    He said

    But he didn’t mean it

This is a poem I can well relate to, from experiences in the past, and being in relationships where communication was not open. Well written, Theresa.

Love minimalist spare use of words. Precise capture of that moment. Thanks for post.

The lines of communication are very important. We must realize that we say more with our body language than with anythng else.
Thank you for your words. May God bless.

Communication is a precious thing but how easily the lines go down sometimes never to be repaired.

okay - I will go WAAAAY out on a limb here and point out that I am sure God has felt that way about me sometimes. ME being the one who shut the door and didn't mean the words I said... Painfull. I am sorry.
    God bless
